Software for Heat Treatment Simulations
Heat treatment of steel is more than just meeting a hardness specification.
It must also produce a desirable residual stress state, proper metallurgical
phase distribution, and correct dimensions. The DANTE® software aids the heat
treater and designer in predicting the effects of chemistry and process variables on these
parameters.

Utilities for Data Fitting and Validation
DANTE Utilities comprise a set of software tools that are used to derive mechanical
constants, kinetics parameters, and heat transfer coefficient data from experimental data. MEC-FIT determines
DANTE mechanical constants from rate and temperature controlled tension and compression tests. DIL-FIT determines phase
transformation kinetics parameters for austenite formation and austenite decomposition to ferrite, pearlite, bainite
and martensite from ASTM Standard A1033 dilatometry tests. JOM-GEN calculates the Jominy hardness curve with accompanying
phase fraction curves from DANTE kinetics parameters for a specific steel chemistry. TTT-GEN and CCT-GEN programs calculate isothermal
transformation and continuous cooling diagrams using kinetics parameters in the DANTE material database. G_CARB and
V_CARB are used to predict carbon and case hardness profiles for gas and vacuum carburizing, or to optimize gas
carburizing or vacuum carburizing schedules to produce desired profiles.
